Outdoor Experiences
Increase your child in appreciation for Allah’s creation through reflection, observation, and nature-based activities. They’ll gain resilience and comfort with the outdoors while building valuable outdoor, leadership, and cooperative skills in an Islamic environment.
2025-2026 Theme
Each year, our classes, discussion, and activities work from a central theme centered around our connection to Allah & nature. This year’s theme is:
Rahmah, Khilaafah & Al-Mizaan (Mercy, Stewardship, and The Balance)
Class Flow
Open-ended play and exploration are important to us because it is important to kids. Research has increasingly shown they are a necessary part of a contented, balanced childhood, and are vital to how children learn and experience the world in this and other settings.
Our classes incorporate hiking, nature journaling, on-topic skill sessions, and opportunities for reflection, connection, and free exploration, all in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate way. Opportunities for connection can look like games, challenges, play, or discussions, and we are only limited by where our interests take us.
Locations
We meet in local natural spaces in Central Maryland (Columbia, Laurel, Ellicott City). Class locations are selected by topic to give students the best experience and shared exclusively with registrants prior to the start of class.
We serve several Maryland counties (Howard, Prince George’s, Montgomery, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Calvert, St. Mary’s & Frederick) - please inquire about locations near you!
Class Availability
Early registration is encouraged!
Our classes are carefully planned to provide a high-quality experience for each student. To make sure your child’s spot is secured, we recommend registering early.
Each class requires a non-refundable deposit to hold your student’s space and is applied to the cost of your registration.
Classes may be canceled if we have less than the minimum enrollment. Registering promptly helps us confirm classes, plan materials, and ensure the best experience for everyone.

Sibling Discount: 10% off each sibling registration; discount not available for all programs
Full payment is due 10 days before the start of class unless payment arrangements are made
Full payment or a deposit is required to hold your space in the class, due upon registration
Deposits and payments are non-refundable, except if the class does not proceed

Program Policies
Classes are DROP-OFF, except as noted, and are for enrolled students only
Classes are held rain or shine; extreme weather cancellations will be rescheduled when possible
Group size is capped for safety and a quality experience
All supplies are provided
Students will bring their own lunch, snacks, water, and gear
